HC-BMD, an F28-4000 of
TAME aborted take-off at Quito-Mariscal Suito International Airport
(Ecuador) after a tyre blow-out on 17 Jan 03. It ran off the runway end,
striking a navigation installation, and its nose-gear collapsed. Two
women passengers were injured during the evacuation. The other 58
passengers and crew were uninjured.
The same aircraft had an
earlier gear collapse at Tulcan on 17 Jul 01.
